Mia Hughes-Smith
Relational, person-centred therapy for identity, belonging, couples, and GSDR-affirming support.
Mia works with people who are trying to make sense of who they are — in their relationships, their identity, and their sense of where they belong.

Her approach is person-centred and relational, with particular experience supporting couples, family dynamics, and individuals within LGBTQ+ communities. She works in an affirming and inclusive way with gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity (GSDR), recognising that identity and wellbeing are shaped both personally and relationally.

Mia is guided by a compassionate curiosity, creating space for clients to explore themselves more openly and in greater depth. She may draw on creative approaches where helpful, but her focus remains on the relationship and what emerges within it.

Alongside her therapy work, she teaches and mentors trainee therapists at South Coast Wellbeing and Training, reflecting an ongoing commitment to thoughtful, reflective practice.

Clients often experience Mia as engaged, warm, and gently encouraging, with a sensitivity to the complexity of identity and relationship.
